Plasmid, antibody
and animal model request(s): For animal model requests please appreciate the truly enormous investments in time and money needed to establish gene-knockout and transgenic models. Sharing of our mouse models will usually require the completion of a MTA-form. Other formalities and restrictions for use of animals or cells may depend on rules set by the University or the granting organization who provided us with support for generating the individual animal models or MoAbs. Finally, be aware that we need complex agreements between veterinarians at both centers (health status forms!) before exchange of animals between animal facilities can be even initiated or planned. We will always need your complete input-info about addresses/phone numbers of contact persons, details about local customs regulations and a well-specified proposal about who is going to pay for costs of microbial/viral testing, the air-fare bill, and actual costs of the (enormous amount of) paperwork involved. Negotiations are underway to make some of our mice available from a commercial source, but also then considerable costs can still be involved. |
