I will discuss the various molecular,
imaging and image analysis technologies that we developed to
monitor patterns of gene expression in development with the highest
available resolution in both space and time. Additionally I will
discuss our comparative genomics project aiming at explaining the
apparent constraint on the evolution of animal morphology during
embryogenesis known as the hourglass model.
