Profile
Adrian Cohen obtained a first class honours degree (BSc) in Pharmacology at the University of Sunderland in 1998. In 2001, I obtained my doctoral degree from the University of Glasgow and studying the mechanism of action of two purine-analogues against a Toxoplasma gondii parasite. In 2001, I joined Galapagos genomics as a junior group leader (responsible for the incorporation of proteomics technologies into the Company's platform for the validation of gene targets for Psoriasis, Osteoporosis and Alzheimer's disease) and in 2004 joined Prof. Stunnenberg's lab at the NCMLS as a postdoctoral researcher (analysis of histone modifications in Malaria parasite). In 2005 I became the project manager for a number of EU FP6 projects and in April 2007 became a full-time scientific manager for NCMLS. My formal position is with the RUNMC as a research policy advisor. I am responsible for scientific manangement and strategy at NCMLS. Tasks include internationalisation, grant writing, Graduate School (Masters & PhD) advisor, talent recruitment, international symposium organisation, lectures and seminars, manager NCMLS secretariaat.
